a. Chemotrophs:some bacteria neither depend on sunlight nor on organic food synthasised by other animals. They make use of chemical energy. obtained by the oxidation of inorganic compounds like iron or sulphur. This is known as chemosynthesis. e.g. Iron bacteria, sulphur bacteria etc.
